Overdriven sonic delivery system (moderate gain OD)
The Electric Chain Drive is a moderately gained overdrive guitar pedal. Like all our overdrives, it has dual clipping stages that keeps the clipping in front of the sound rather than behind it (we call this "gain enveloping"). An amp-tone-stack based filter targets the mid-frequencies to cut through the mix during leads.
This is a very natural, multi-faceted overdrive providing distinct note articulation across a broad range of frequencies. The decay is what you always wanted, rich and full of depth. This is a dynamic pedal without undesirable "clipping" artifacts (typical ODs are driving op-amps pushed beyond capabilities causing undesirable "op-amp noise" - not true here with the cascading clipping stages).
The Electric Chain Drive relies on an active tone control to manage the highs and lows. This is designed to maintain the right balance between treble and bass based on the how hard pushing the pedal. The Hi-Cut enables you to tame the manage the high-end giving you an additional control that you'll find surprisingly useful. These are useful "eq" controls not just "selling features" with absurd extremes.
Tired of pedals with touchy volume controls - the need to tap a knob to prevent a massive volume jump? The Electronic Chain Drive has an active volume control that provides smooth, even increases (decreases) in volume. This is not a common feature in guitar pedals and one you will greatly appreciate the next time your on stage and trying to set your OD volume to fit the room.
